Liz Truss has won through to become the UK’s new Prime Minister. Warren Campbell, general manager of 15Hatfields, has issued a statement where he urges the government to commit to strong sustainability. He also comments on increased energy costs and how it may affect the 2050 net zero target.
The statement is below…
“Here at 15Hatfields – one of London’s most sustainable venues – we’re keen for the new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, to ensure that the government commits to a strong sustainability agenda.
“The net zero target requires energy to be used more efficiently and generated from clean sources. However, increased energy costs could impact our progress to achieve the 2050 target.
“As the home of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), we’re calling for a raft of energy efficiency measures to be introduced as they play a key role in fighting climate change and reducing carbon emissions, in addition to increasing the amount of financial support provided.”
