QEII Conference Centre Welcome New Chef Danilo Barbagallo

In a recent press release, the Queen Elizabeth II conference centre (QEII) has announced their new appointment of executive chef. Italian born Danilo Barbagallo brings 30 years of experience to the central London venue, replacing Jean Michel Viala who has left after six years in the role.

From the press release…

“I already have a long working relationship with most of my new team and I am looking forward to working together with them at the QEII Centre.”

Joining Danilo is senior sous chef Alessandro Malefora and three chef de parties – Joanna Borawska, Maria Angeles Gimenez Ubeda and Chantelle Shannon Quevedo. In addition, Crista Oanta is joining QEII Taste as people operations manager while Ruth Motiaka has secured an apprenticeship in its finance office.

With regard to his team, Danilo said…

“I know we will be very busy in the coming months, but I will ensure that my team is happy. I think as long as you have a happy team and are working towards the same goal you can achieve great things.”

The 7-floor QEII Centre offers 32 adaptable conference and events spaces, with capacity for up to 1,300 theatre style in a single room. World-class facilities for high profile conferences, conventions, exhibitions and corporate events have capacity for up to 2,500 delegates. Around 400 national and international events are hosted there each year. The centre sits opposite World Heritage Site, Westminster Abbey.
