16th November 2022, London: New data from event tech scale-up HeadBox indicates the UK event industry is set for a record-breaking year for Christmas parties.
HeadBox, a digital platform for booking meetings and events, has reported a nearly 4x increase in demand for corporate Christmas party bookings compared to 2021.* In fact, they are seeing over twice as much demand for a festive celebration this year compared with pre-pandemic Christmas 2019.**
And the reason for this? For the first time ever, the World Cup will be played throughout late November and December. This year, there are sure to be clashes between match days and Christmas parties.
“August to October are always busy months for us as people start looking ahead and booking their work Christmas celebrations”, says Grace Louisy, HeadBox Head of Account Management. “This year however, we’ve seen an unprecedented increase in demand for Christmas party bookings. The combination of the World Cup dominating November and December alongside cancelled bookings rolling over from last year, as well as fewer venue staff, means companies need to be ultra-prepared this year to avoid disappointment and ensure their planned festivities go ahead without a hitch.”
